How Can I Use Portfolios?

Portfolios allow you to view related policies and annuity contracts together so they can be reviewed and monitored as a group, rather than one policy at a time.

There are 2 types of Portfolios

User Portfolios and Firm Portfolios

Not all User and subscription types have access to Firm Portfolios.
Firm Level Portfolios are available to any Account Admin in your firm and are currently only available for Account Admins.
User Level Portfolios are only visible to the User which created the portfolio.
Please contact your Customer Success Manager if you don't have the Firm Portfolio option and would like it or for more info.

How to Create Either Type of Portfolio

1.  To create a User or Firm Portfolio, go to >Servicing and then >Portfolios from the top navigation bar.

2. Select the Add Portfolio button in the top right.

2.  You will be asked to Name the Portfolio and decide if you want it to be a Firm Level portfolio (if that option is available to you).  Once you have named your Portfolio and added it to the list, click on the Portfolio Name to Add Policies and/or Annuity Contracts to the Portfolio, using the Add Contracts button on the top right:

3.  After you have added policies, use the Gear icon in the upper right to add, remove, or change the order of various columns when you view the Portfolio.  This is also where Custom Labels can be applied to the various columns.

4.  When you are ready to share the Portfolio, select the pdf or excel buttons    to export your Portfolio and send it to others.

Firm Portfolios

Firm Portfolios are visible to and editable by every Firm Admin in the Firm- not just one particular User.  Firm Portfolios can also be used to create a Portfolio Review.

A Portfolio Review is a view of the portfolio with:

  • totals for each column
  • ability to add a custom column
  • options to group the policies by Insured, Policy Owner or Policy Type
  • template options for various common policy groups

To create a Firm Portfolio Review, select the name of the Firm Portfolio and then select  . Once created you can decide how to group the policies, which template to use to view the policies, add a custom field and name this particular Portfolio view.

Comments can also be added to any policy and can be shown or hidden from view.  They will always be visible when printed.

Looking at a Portfolio Review can be especially helpful when a client has an interest in more than one policy or annuity or they have a combination of life policies and annuities, for example- allowing you to quickly understand how much coverage a business has in place across all it's key employees or when a Trust owns multiple policies.
